Taylor Wimpey gives a lesson in safety to Bishopton Primary

Last week Taylor Wimpey West Scotland gave the local children of Bishopton Primary School in Bishopton some reminders about health and safety.

As production at Taylor Wimpey’s development of new homes at Dargavel Village in Bishopton is now in full swing, Taylor Wimpey was keen to promote the dangers associated with playing near any construction site, and raise awareness of the children’s need to be extra vigilant as work progresses in their local area.

This type of activity and involvement with local schools has proven an effective deterrent in the past as Steven Laurie, Production Director of Taylor Wimpey West Scotland explains:  “Health and safety in and around our construction areas is of vital importance to Taylor Wimpey, and taking this type of proactive approach with BishoDargavel_Village_Bishopton_Safety_Lessons_Primary_Schoolpton Primary School allows us to reinforce just how important it is for children to stay away from our Dargavel Village construction site.

“Our lesson plan is delivered by our Health & Safety consultants, and it allows us to deliver a very important message in a fun and interactive way.  Having the chance to chat to the children in school serves as the perfect reminder for the children that building sites are not playgrounds!”

Mrs Crozier is headteacher of Bishopton Primary School:  “I was delighted to welcome Taylor Wimpey into our school to highlight the dangers associated with children playing near any construction site.  The development of new homes at Dargavel Village is well underway, and we will have a significant amount of construction work in the local area for some time, so this visit was perfectly timed to remind the children of the potential dangers of playing near the Dargavel Village development.

“It’s great that Taylor Wimpey understands the importance of our children’s safety, and has created such an interactive and proactive approach that appealed to our pupils – we enjoyed their visit immensely.”

Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s first development in Dargavel Village, Bishopton offers 147 new homes comprising a range of three, four and five bedroom houses in a variety of styles and sizes.  A further development of 150 new homes offering a mix of two, three, and Dargavel_Village_Bishopton_Safety_Visit_Primary_Schoolfour bedroom styles will be introduced later this year – increasing the overall choice of homes for buyers to consider.

The sales information centre is located off the North Access Road, Dargavel Village, Bishopton.  Opening hours are Thursday – Monday from 11am-5.30pm.  For the latest availability and prices visit www.taylorwimpey.co.uk/dargavelvillage.
