Not even a lottery win would make happy family move

Moving to Dargavel Village South, part of the multi-million pound development on the fringe of Bishopton, has been such an incredible and positive move for Lynn McClelland and her family that her husband Craig has said that ‘even if he won the lottery, he still wouldn’t move’ - offering a considerable seal of approval for their new home at this transformational development in the west of Scotland.

Dargavel Village South, Bishopton has offered the family a completely fresh start as Lynn (34), a creative campaign manager explains:  “My husband Craig (34), our children Sofia (5) and Ryan (2), and I moved to Dargavel Village South from Ferry Village in Braehead in August this year, just ahead of Sofia starting primary one at Bishopton Primary.  Whilst we have lots of amazing family memories from our time at Ferry Village, as a family we had mixed feelings about our house there after my husband Craig left one morning for a casual bike ride and was then involved in a terrible road accident that left him in a coma for ten days when I was 8 months pregnant.

“Our move is a fresh start for our family and it is wonderful here.  For Craig and I this is our dream home and we are so happy with our decision to move to Dargavel Village South.  The area feels prosperous and you can see the changes taking shape every day, so it’s really exciting for us to be part of such a new and major development. The team at Taylor Wimpey, including Nicola in the sales office, were so helpful. They’ve really helped us to achieve our dream move.

“As part of our move, we wanted to be closer to our family.  My mum lives in Port Glasgow and Craig’s family are originally from Clydebank, so Bishopton is really well-placed in the middle of the two.  Plus Bishopton has great transport links so I can easily pick up the train into Glasgow for work.”

The family have already settled into life at Dargavel Village South as Craig, a gas engineer, adds: “We used Taylor Wimpey’s part-exchange scheme to make a stress-free move into our new home, and the team at Taylor Wimpey worked really hard to make sure that we got the keys to our beautiful four bedroom Douglas before Sofia started school.  She’s already settled in with lots of friends and has even joined local clubs including the Girl’s Brigade.

“We found the whole part-exchange process really simple, and it meant that we didn’t need to worry about whether our old house was sold.  We could just focus on our move to our new home, so it has been a very busy and exciting time for everyone. We’ve got a great mix of neighbours too and there’s a really lovely community feeling already with everyone looking out for one another.  In fact, we love it here so much that we’ve been telling all our friends from our old development in Ferry Village how great it is to live here, and a few of them have also decided to move.”

Buying a new home has lots of additional advantages as Lynn adds: “We made a conscious decision to buy a new home – with two small children we just didn’t want the stress of trying to carry out renovations. With a new home there’s no DIY and everything is new so that’s a real benefit when you’re juggling busy family life.  We’ve literally moved in, unpacked and got on with life – we are so settled and feel right at home.  And everyone’s been so welcoming - we’re making new friends all the time when we pick Sofia up from school and life is really good at Dargavel Village!”

Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland comments:  “As work progresses on both of our developments at Dargavel Village, Bishopton, it’s families like The McClellands that are helping to bring the vision for this development to life.  And I’m delighted that our part-exchange scheme has played a role in helping the family to make such an important move go really smoothly.

“We’re always happy to assist buyers to help their dream move become a reality, and I’d encourage buyers thinking about a move to pop along and visit the showhomes that we have available at both Dargavel Village and Dargavel Village South.  I’m confident you’ll be inspired!”

Dargavel Village South, Bishopton offers 197 new homes comprising a range of two, three, and four bedroom homes in a variety of styles and sizes which will appeal to a wide range of buyers considering a move to this easily accessible, rural location.  Prices currently start from £165,000 for the two bedroom semi-detached Andrew.  Showhomes are now open to allow customers to see for themselves the quality, style and craftsmanship they can expect when the buy a new home from Taylor Wimpey.

Buyers can also get help to get on the move with one of Taylor Wimpey’s buyer incentives such as Easymover, part-exchange, or the Scottish Government supported Help to Buy (Scotland) initiative – each scheme aiming to make the process of buying a new home as easy and stress-free as possible.
